Science experiment...

The 2nd and 3rd graders have been learning about electricity in science. Right now, they are focusing on what is insulating or conducting (isolant or conducteur) and have been working with . During the first phase of the experiment, they picked objects in the classroom and tried to see if they were conducting or insulating. During the second phase, the teachers had picked objects (silverware, plastic silverware, aluminium foil...) and the students had to pick the ones they wanted to experiment and try to light a little bulb.

How fun it was!

Chinese New Year Celebration

Our school community celebrated Chinese New Year today at the South Freeport Church Community Hall. It was a wonderful event filled with joy and delicious food. The very talented chef Stephanie Brewer made a delicious cold noodle salad, barbecue Chinese pork and dumplings. THANK YOU so much for all your time and hard work! The China Rose restaurant supplied fried rice and Spring rolls as well as fortune cookies.

We were very lucky to have many parents volunteering to set up tables and chairs, prepare and serve plates of food and help clean up afterwards. THANK YOU, your help was greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU also so much to Connie Zhu from the Chinese-American Friendship Association of Maine for her presentation and fun facts on Chinese New Year! It was so wonderful to have you share your experience with us!
