Since the beginning of the year the 2nd and 3rd graders practice mental arithmetic daily, as recommended in the French and Maine curriculum.
This practice puts them more and more at ease with numbers, and handling them mentally. Calculations that seemed very complicated at the beginning of the year are now done fast and easily!
The class participating in a mental calculation contest with classes in France had the best results!!! The test (we listen to a voice on the computer which dictates calculations at a quick pace) is a bit difficult, but the children passed it with flying colors! Félicitations!
