Students in GS/CP have made their own models of the classroom using
Legos, Duplos and Playdough. The three groups presented their work to
their classmates, explained what they chose to represent and how they
knew how where to place their "furniture" to accurately represent the
classroom.

Afterwards, one of our models was covered with flour! The furniture was removed carefully and we were able to notice the shape of what was there before. This helped us understand the difference between a model and a map.
