March Performance
Every March, EFDM is invited to perform at the Franco Center for Heritage and the Performing Arts in Auburn.
Our teachers and students spend months planning, creating, preparing and rehearsing for the show. This is surely an event you won't want to miss. (Although if you do, we will have plenty of pictures to share!)

Morning Stories
Each week in the CE1/CE2 classroom, a pair of students work together each week to create a story to share with the class at the end of the week. They are given ideas, picture cues, and vocabulary choices to include in their story that they share with the class orally.
Students love being authors AND the audience!

Snow Sculptures in the style of Goldsworthy
Students in the GS-CP class learned about an artist named Andy Goldsworthy, a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist known for his site-specific sculpture and land art situated in natural and urban settings.
They drew inspiration from his work to create their own sculptures, using only what they could find on the school playground. Unfortunately, the sun and warmer temperatures melted away their beautiful work, but here are some photos for you to enjoy!

Paysages d'hiver par les GS-CP
Children from the GS-CP class were inspired by the recent weather and created their own winter landscape in art.
First, they painted their background in a color gradient.
Then, they drew a landscape on black paper, using light colored pencils and sometimes cookie-cutters to help shape moose, bears or otters. They cut out their creations and glued them on their backgrounds.
Finally, they created a blizzard on the scene by spraying white paint with a toothbrush.

Fun in the snow!
It's always a fun recess when it's time for sledding!
Over the December vacation, the school placed hay bales down the hill and through the forest to ensure a safe sledding environment. Today students enjoyed sledding with their classmates!
Welcome back!
Welcome back to school!
On January 2 we welcomed 5 new students to our EFDM community. Although our first day back we had frigid and dangerous temperatures, students were thrilled to be reunited with friends and to meet our new classmates.
